Dear New Miami Families:
We are excited to welcome our students back in a few short weeks. It is our hope that the 2021-2022 school year will have a more traditional look and feel.
After careful consideration of the Centers for Disease Control and the Ohio Department of Health’s recommendations, masks and facial coverings will be strongly recommended for students and staff at New Miami Local School District this fall.
While we are leaving the decision on whether or not to wear face coverings to our families and staff, I want to remind you that the Ohio Department of Health recommends those whether vaccinated or not vaccinated should consider wearing a mask or face covering indoors. As you will see on the Ohio Department of Health’s Quarantine FlowChart if a person is wearing a mask and is exposed it is possible that they will not be quarantined by the local health department.
We will continue to ask our staff, students, and families to review the health assessment prior to coming to school each day. By staying home when you or your child are not feeling well, you will not only help protect others from COVID-19 but will also help stop the spread of illnesses such as the flu or common cold.
Enjoy the last days of summer break. We look forward to seeing our students back in our classrooms soon.
Rhonda Parker, Superintendent
