Innovative Superintendent of the Year 2024Rhonda Parker, Superintendent at New Miami School District, has been named the state winner of the prestigious Innovative Superintendent of the Year award for 2024 in the State of Ohio. This annual award, sponsored by Sibme, recognizes superintendents who exhibit creative and cutting-edge strategies to foster a culture of continuous improvement among their teams. Superintendent Parker will be formally recognized for her achievement on February 27.

There were 13 applicants for this honor and the top three were selected as finalists.

“Ms. Rhonda Parker has been a catalyst for fostering a culture of reflection and collaboration among teachers at New Miami Local School District,” says Joshua Senters, Director of Human Resources and Student Services. “Her leadership style is centered on collaboration and support, creating an environment where staff members feel empowered to take initiative and explore new methods to enhance student learning outcomes.”

New Miami Local School District, under the leadership of Superintendent Parker has implemented "Teacher-Led Learning Work Groups." These groups provide a hands-on, collaborative environment where teachers can experiment with new teaching techniques, analyze student data, and receive real-time feedback from colleagues. To ensure continuous growth, each Learning Work Groups is followed by a reflective session where participants share successes, challenges, and potential improvements. By involving teachers in both the delivery and evaluation of professional learning, the district has cultivated a culture of shared leadership and continuous improvement.

Rhonda Parker’s nomination is a testament to her dedication and the positive impact she has made on New Miami School District. And results are proof of success, “The initiatives implemented by Ms. Rhonda Parker at New Miami Local School District have led to significant improvements in teacher retention, staff morale, and student achievement,” says Mr. Senters.

Innovative Veterans Day Ceremony Honoring our Local Heroes

Today, our school community came together to honor and recognize the service and sacrifices of our Veterans. Students and staff filled the gym for a meaningful ceremony celebrating the men and women who have bravely served our country.

The Butler County Color Guard opened the ceremony with the Presentation of the Colors. We were honored to welcome New Miami Alumni SSG E6 Tim Hacker, U.S. Army – Retired (1988–2007) as our Veterans Day Guest Speaker. His message of courage, dedication, and service reminded us of the profound commitment made by those who protect our freedoms.

After the ceremony, local veterans and their families were invited to a special breakfast as a small gesture of our gratitude. The gathering offered a warm and appreciative atmosphere, allowing staff to personally thank our honored guests.

As a school community, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all Veterans for their service to our nation.

Thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to protecting our freedom.
