Superintendent's Message

Families, Students, Staff, and Community Members,

I hope that everyone had a great summer! Also, that you had an opportunity to rest, relax, and enjoy time with family and friends.  I am excited that our school year is just around the corner and we are preparing to start the new school year.  The district staff have been working diligently to prepare for an outstanding start to the 2019 - 2020 school year and welcoming everyone back to school.

First, we will welcome our new and veteran staff with brunch on opening day.  Next, we will welcome our first through twelfth grade students who return to school on August 21st, Then, our preschool and kindergarten students will return on a later date after their initial screenings take place.  Preschool and kindergarten parents, you should be receiving a phone call to set up an appointment for a screening time and specific start information concerning your little Viking.

Extensive time and effort have helped us achieve the success that we have experienced in the past, but this journey has not ended.  We are committed to moving forward, guided by our mission and beliefs of student achievement and progress to reach our goals.

Our annual Open House will be August 19th.  The elementary open house will be from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. The middle and high school will be from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m..  I hope you will make arrangements to attend the Open House so that your child has an opportunity to meet his/her teachers, receive information about his/her classes, and for those students in high school, gain information about graduation requirements.

I look forward to seeing each of you at Open House and welcoming students back to school.

Ms. Rhonda Parker, Superintendent
