I hope that this message finds you and your family in good health. Recent developments have been very challenging for our school and community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are living in a time of unprecedented uncertainty. I just wanted to say “Thank You” to our students, faculty, and staff for your patience, understanding and perseverance during these trying times. There is much going on with caring for our families, social distancing and living very differently than what we are used to.

Thanks to investments for technology and distance learning, the academic year is resuming on September 8, 2020 with two weeks of hybrid learning to ensure students exploration of discovery and self-improvement that occurs in our classrooms will continue in remote learning following the two-week hybrid period.  Our students were already one to one with Chromebooks, but we have secured for all students to have access to Wi-Fi for remote learning in order to succeed in their studies. For those who chose to do remote learning for the entire year, your platform will begin at a later date. Your building principals will be communicating those details to you.

We will all persevere and our goal is to successfully complete the semester with the least amount of interruptions to the educational processes. While we are working remotely, our staff is committed to continuing to provide the student and academic resources that students are accustomed to when they are on campus in the classrooms. Please visit our Facebook, Dojo, and district website for student online information and resources to succeed. Contact your child’s teachers for individual questions concerning their learning. Keep open communication between you, your child, and your child's teachers in order to attain optimal success during this period.

To me, what makes New Miami Local Schools so incredibly special is our students and staff, all committed to supporting our community of excellence. Now more than ever, our community needs to support each other.  Being willing to face challenges, while exploring the opportunities for change to be successful.

We look forward to welcoming you back on campus when it is conducive to do so. Until then, I offer my thanks and my best wishes for your health and continued success!

“You need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their successes and encourage them in their pursuits. When we all help one another, everybody wins.” -- Jim Stovall
