Dear Parents/Guardians,

Please turn your child's immunization record into the school nurse as soon as possible.  The Ohio Department of Health states that students are required to receive immunizations prior to Kindergarten, 7th Grade, and 12th Grade.  Your child can receive these shots from their primary care physician's office or the Butler County Health Department.  Some pharmacies also offer immunizations to students.

Band Competition

The New Miami High School Band went to compete in the Music in the Parks competition - the first time a New Miami concert band has competed before. Each group performs two pieces for two judges. The band is scored on a rubric, and is given an overall rating of 1-5 (1 being the highest, 5 is the lowest). The groups are also ranked within their division (divisions are determined by school size).

The New Miami Band got a rating of 2 (Excellent) and placed FIRST within our division. The event also presents overall awards regardless of division, and our small but mighty New Miami Band also took home the award for Best Overall High School Band. This is a truly remarkable accomplishment for a group of students who have never competed before!

The other half of the day was spent celebrating at King's Island. The kids had an amazing time and consistently represented our school with maturity and responsibility. Congratulations to all!

All of our soloists (Payton Bush, Jillian Proctor, and Brooklyn Shepard) received a 1 ("Superior"). And for the first time in New Miami history, we took an ensemble to perform as well.
