Graduation Commencement

graduation cap

The New Miami High School Class of 2017 cordially invites you to attend the graduation ceremony at New Miami High School on the twenty fifth of May, two thousand and seventeen at seven o'clock in the evening.

Band Competition

The New Miami High School Band went to compete in the Music in the Parks competition - the first time a New Miami concert band has competed before. Each group performs two pieces for two judges. The band is scored on a rubric, and is given an overall rating of 1-5 (1 being the highest, 5 is the lowest). The groups are also ranked within their division (divisions are determined by school size).

The New Miami Band got a rating of 2 (Excellent) and placed FIRST within our division. The event also presents overall awards regardless of division, and our small but mighty New Miami Band also took home the award for Best Overall High School Band. This is a truly remarkable accomplishment for a group of students who have never competed before!

The other half of the day was spent celebrating at King's Island. The kids had an amazing time and consistently represented our school with maturity and responsibility. Congratulations to all!

Middle School OMEA Solo and Ensemble

The four students who participated in the OMEA Solo & Ensemble festival this past Saturday represented our school well, both musically and professionally. The students were scored based on the following criteria: tone, intonation, interpretation, and technique. Students are given an overall rating of 1-5, with 1 being the highest possible score and 5 being the lowest. All of our soloists (Payton Bush, Jillian Proctor, and Brooklyn Shepard) received a 1 ("Superior"). And for the first time in New Miami history, we took an ensemble to perform as well. The "New Miami Woodwind Trio" of Brittany Rodriguez, Jillian Proctor, and Brooklyn Shepard received a rating of 2 ("Excellent"). If you see any of these students, be sure to congratulate them on a job well done!
